Everyday Art Inspirations

We love finding artistic inspiration in the most unlikely of places. Forcing us to look at what is normally considered a cheap toy, Lenore Edman photographs superballs as if they were sculptures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We usually see these type of toys crammed together inside a quarter machine outside of the supermarket, children often begging for some change to get one to play with for a few minutes until it is lost forever. These photographs focus on the uniqueness of each ball and ask us to consider who made it, where it came from, and what purpose it is suppose to serve. Most importantly, it reminds us to take look at the simple things in life that make it just a little more interesting.

These are just a few of our favorites. Lenore has several flickr albums dedicated to these superballs that are definitely worth a look.
