As cooler weather approaches we are beginning to see some heavier techniques being used in combination with traditional screen printing. One of the most popular fall time techniques is called flocking. Just like high density ink, flocking is used to give a specific element a textural distinction from the rest of the garment.

Flock feels similar to a velvet fabric, but unlike velvet, flocking is a topical technique done by printing a layer of sticky adhesive and then applying loose flock fibers. Some fibers stick to the areas where the adhesive has been printed while the rest of the loose fibers are a vacuumed away leaving a clean, fuzzy-feeling design.

Flock is an excellent choice for creating dimensional black on black designs or for giving any garment an extra luxurious touch without the extra cost.
